Optoro And 5 Other Al Gore Investments

Optoro, which allows businesses to sell unwanted items, returned goods, and other excess inventory, raised $50 million this week. Optoro helps companies solve their asset recovery and inventory management problems by reselling unwanted and returned goods across multiple platforms, including  eBay, Amazon, and BLINQ.com, Optoro's own platform.

Optoro's recent funding round was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers’ Green Growth Fund, along with Revolution Growth, Grotech Ventures and SWaN & Legend Venture Partners. Another investor was Generation Investment Management, the London-based firm founded by Al Gore, which invested $10 million in Optoro this week.
