How to Find Companies Matching Your Headcount, Location and Sector Criteria

Posted in: DataFox Power Features, marketing, Marketing Operations

DataFox enables sales teams to grow their territories by searching our million-plus company database and narrowing their results with intuitive headcount, location, keyword and other filters. Here, we'll show you how you can use DataFox to find companies in your territory, with three examples.

The basics

You can view and search our company database at https://app.datafox.com/search/companies/data (login required). From there, you can refine your results using any of the filters listed, or by any columns in the display.

To add columns (and therefore filter by them), click the "Change Columns" button and select the new datapoints you want.

Change columns

Example 1: 51-200 person companies in California with at least $1 million in revenue

Let's say your territory covers Californian companies with at least $1 million and between 51 and 200 employees. Here's how to find matching prospects.

First, filter by location. Under "Search by State," enter "California."

Example 2: Net-new fintech companies in the Boston metropolitan area

(Note: This method requires that you sync your Salesforce account to DataFox).

As in the first example, start by filtering by location. Open the Location filter, and under the "Metropolitan Hub" column, select "Boston Metro."

Example 3: Companies similar to your existing accounts in ZIP code 94110

(Note: This method requires that you upload your existing Salesforce accounts into DataFox.)

First, navigate to the list of your uploaded Salesforce accounts by clicking on "Home," "My Lists" and the name of the list your accounts are saved into.

Then, click on the "Similar Companies" tab to see an algorithmically generated list of companies with a similar profile to your prospects.
